I grew up with Japanese Manga such as Dragon Ball and Doraemon. I have no idea how those Manga are famous in the world. But recently, I see a lot of TV show talks about the Manga. I know that the Manga gives a lot of experience and dreams. I really like that because it gives me a lot of power. My best Manga is the Dragon Ball. Mr.Toriyama, when I was a little kid, I had been reading the story everyday.
I wanted to be the main character who is called SONGOKUU. The character has strong and pure heart. It is also unique character. About this Japanese Manga, I know good about it. However, I just wonder in what points other countries people like the Manga.
Manga gives us a dream.
Hello Taka,
yes, in Germany Manga became really popular, too. I grew up like you with Doraemon, Asarichan or Kobochan (due to my Japanese mother). But I really wondered when in the 90’s German get interested in Mangas. I think even Dragonball is one of the first mangas which were translated into German. It was also a great success as an Anime on TV and many German kids liked Songoku and his “Kame-hame-haaaa” (with another pronunciation haha xD). The Japanese Mangas are so different to Western Comics, people like the “action” in Mangas, it shows us more vividly every move of the chara. And of course the plot I think is more interesting, more fantasy, more cute characters and romance for girls (they like those big eyes of Shojo-Mangas). When Germany started with Manga-fever I started to be interested in Mangas, too, bought many many German and Japanese Mangas but nowadays there are soooo many different kinds of mangas or korean mangas and German mangas, that’s too much for me, lol. Now I just buy as usual the Japanese Kobochan or mangas from Yuu Watase, that are my favourites
.

Hello. wow you know a lot of Mangas more than I do. ^^. Unfortunately, I don’t know about any other countries Manga. We have a Tv-drama from Korea which was famous in Japan. Well, I think it is still famous. In Japan, we don’t have any translated Manga. I want to see some of them though. We just watch movies instead.
