Hi, oh you are going to Japan!! That is great. If you want to see shirines or temples, you should go to KYOUTO. They city has a lot of famous places in KYOUTO. Around Kyouto was called "MIYAKO" long time ago. That means KYOUTO was capital in Japan. If you compare with KYOUTO and TOKYO, you can see the differences.
1. 清水寺：kiyomizu-dera. 2. 金閣寺：kinkakuji. These two temples are famous. They are world heritage in Japan.

I'm really excited because my friend and I are planning to go to Japan in November. Can you suggest anything interesting to see or do there? I would be interested in seeing shrines or temples, if that is possible. Thank you very much!

Hi, Thank you for your comment. Culture is various. I mean it is not only one. And the culture is changing at any moment. My culture has long history. That's it. Oh, you like Japanese Manga, huh. I grew up with reading Manga a lot. DragonBall is my best. Manga is new culture in Japan.

Hi! I like your blog very much! Well, to be honest I started getting to be interested in Japan because of my passion from manga and anime. But now I'm interested in Japan because of it's colorful culture.
As to my own culture, very hard to define. I'm from a country that has been colonized by different countries for centuries, so I 'm thinking we're like a mix breed? But I think that's not so bad, is it?

Nice post Taka. I'm an American married to a Japanese woman for 25 years. Myths abound about Japanese women, one being that they are "weak". Mentally they tend to be much stronger than men. The most recent post on my blog, "Life with a Japanese Wife", talks about some of these myths. Thought you might find it of interest:
